The up-and-comer Caliente’s crowdfunding campaign opened on FundedByMe this morning at 8.00, and the interest for buying shares in the company has been enormous. 5 hours after officially opening the campaign, 44 investors have already pledged over 2 million SEK, or 68 % of the funding target.
– We are speechless – and really excited about the enormous interest – it comes as a big surprise. This also enables us to begin our international expansion, says Thomas Adner, CEO and founder of Caliente.
Since launch spring 2015, it’s been all about creating brand-awareness and firmly establishing the chili infused drink on the Swedish market. Today Caliente is available at more than 450 outlets, through collaboration with five of the largest wholesalers.
Asia and the Middle East are two interesting areas for the organic and chili-based non-alcoholic beverage, produced in Sweden. Distributor partners are already signed for Denmark, Dubai and China. And thanks to very positive recognition, including winning “Best Premium Drink” at World Beverage Innovation Awards, it looks promising.
– We’ve established the baseline to take the next step and grow further and faster, Thomas Adner says. An international expansion has already started. Our goal is to become the world’s premium non-alcoholic beverage, and our mission to get more people to enjoy fun drinks without compromising on taste, health or the environment.
There are also plans to launch Caliente in 2 more strategic European regions during 2016 – a goal made possible thanks to a successful crowdfunding.
