With a mission to make it easier to choose alcohol free, the award-winning Swedish drink has started their soft launch in the UK. The first cases are already on the menu at The Hand and Flowers in Marlow, the only pub in the UK with two Michelin stars. It is also available at the one Michelin starred Pointer at Brill in Oxfordshire.
– Anthony Peart, Head Barman at the Hand and Flowers says “Caliente is a very welcome addition to out drinks menu for those that choose not to drink alcohol, the Chilli, Blueberry and Lemongrass is my favourite” But it’s also a feather in the hat for Caliente as a drink to be paired with food – this is very exciting! Says Caliente’s
founder, Thomas Adner.
The trend for alcohol free drinks continues unabated throughout the world, especially amongst millennials. In the UK, more than a quarter of the 16- to 24-year-olds choose not to drink alcohol at all. Meanwhile, they look for options that don’t compromise on taste, nature or health. Caliente’s take to replace the taste and to some extent feeling of alcohol, is to add extracted chili heat, capsaicin. And given the success since the launch in 2015, Caliente definitely fills a gap in the market.
– We’re proud to have dared to meet the demand for alcohol free drinks for grown-ups in a new way, focusing on new, unexpected yet recognised flavors but with a Scandinavian twist, says Erika Ollén, marketing director.
– Moreover Totally Swedish is our first retail partner for Caliente with two London shops in Barnes and Marylebone and online at www.totallyswedish.com
